TREE SURVEYS - BS5837:2012
Planning authorities require information relating to trees which are in proximity to proposed developments in order to demonstrate that applicants seeking planning permission have considered the impact of development on the existing trees and woodlands, and have identified opportunities for planning and management of new trees and woodlands.
This assessment needs to be undertaken by a suitably qualified arboricultural consultant in accordance with BS5837:2012 (Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction) and should include the following steps:-
- Tree Survey
- Tree Categorisation
- Tree Constraints Plan
- Tree Protection Plan
A BS5837:2012 tree report enables architects and planners to design development schemes around existing tree constraints early on in the process, thus mitigating the potential objections to the application from the Local Authority Tree Officer.
We have the skills and expertise to carry out all aspects of the BS5837:2012 tree report for planning applications as well as carrying out the role of Arboricultural Clerk of Works (ACoW) for construction projects.
